Kick-Off Conference

Goal:
To create a strong network of leading organizations and influential individuals that supports girls to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities.
Attendance:
The "Kick-Off" conference will be attended by representatives (such as counselors, teachers, administrators, managers) from K-12 education, higher education, government, professional organizations, businesses, community-based organizations and other organizations in Missouri, Kansas, and Northeastern Oklahoma.
When:
Saturday, April 1, 2006, from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
Where:
The Plaster Student Union Theater(2nd floor) on the Missouri State University Campus in Springfield, Missouri

  • Keynote: Dr. Mary Ellen Weber - former astronaut and veteran of two space explorations
  • Mini-grant opportunities - begin a collaborative project for submission
  • Share information about your project or organization
  • Discuss barriers to serving girls in STEM
  • Plan for future meetings to address those barriers
