Kick-Off Conference
- Goal:
- To create a strong network of leading organizations and influential individuals that supports girls to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities.
- Attendance:
- The "Kick-Off" conference will be attended by representatives (such as counselors, teachers, administrators, managers) from K-12 education, higher education, government, professional organizations, businesses, community-based organizations and other organizations in Missouri, Kansas, and Northeastern Oklahoma.
- When:
- Saturday, April 1, 2006, from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
- Where:
- The Plaster Student Union Theater(2nd floor)
on the Missouri State University Campus in
Springfield, Missouri

- Keynote: Dr. Mary Ellen Weber - former astronaut and veteran of two space explorations
- Mini-grant opportunities - begin a collaborative project for submission
- Share information about your project or organization
- Discuss barriers to serving girls in STEM
- Plan for future meetings to address those barriers
